This or That? I tag you.

MAKEUP:

Blush or Bronzer?  - Bronzer.
Lip Gloss or Lipstick?  - Lipstick!
Eye Liner or Mascara?  - Oooh I love both but mascara.
Neutral or Color Eye Shadow?  - I do love both, but I’m a color girl at heart.
Pressed or Loose Eye Shadows?  - Pressed are easiest but I do love pigments.
Brushes or Sponges?  - Brushes for sure.

NAILS:
OPI or China Glaze?  -  OPI.
Long or Short?  -  I’d go with in between.  Mine are never short and they grow fast, I keep them in the middle because I don’t like them super long.
Acrylic or Natural?  - Natural, I don’t do acrylic ever.
Brights or Darks? - Brights and darks.  I’m very open with my nail options.
Flower or No Flower?  -  No flowers, except every here and there once in a while.

BODY:
Perfume or Body Spray?  - Perfume.
Lotion or Body Butter?  - Lotion.
Body Wash or Soap?  - Body wash.
Lush or Other Bath Company?  - I love lush- but only from word of mouth unfortunately, so bath and body works would have to be my go to.

FASHION:
Jeans or Sweat Pants?   - Jeans for out, sweat pants for home.
Long Sleeve of Short?  -  Short.
Dresses or Skirts?  -  I don’t really wear either too often but dress.
Stripes or Plaid?  - Stripes.
Flip Flops or Sandals?  - Flippy Floppy’s.
Scarves or Hats? - Oooh tough.  I don’t wear either often but love both.
Studs or Dangly Earrings? -  Studs, and I only wear them in my cartilage’s.
Necklaces or Bracelets? - Depends, I’m a ring girl.
Heels or Flats? -  I like heels but depends on where and if they’re comfy, so flats in general.
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots? - No real opinion.
Jacket or Hoodie?  - Jacket, but have to own a hoodie.
Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe?  - Charlotte Russe.
Abercombie or Hollister?  - Neither.
Saks 5th or Nordstrom?  - Neither really but nordstrom is good I just don’t shop there much.

HAIR:
Curly or Straight? - Wavy naturally.
Bun or Ponytail? - I honestly put my hair up in different ways.  I’ll do a ponytail, but most of the time its one of those easy “sloppy” fold over buns, or a ponytail then pulled up with a clip.  My hair is very, very, very long.  Even with a clip its hard to keep out of my face and off my neck.
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips? - Bobby pins.
Hair Spray or Gel? - I don’t use either but hair spray if I do.
Long or Short? -  Very long.
Light or Dark? -  Dark, I shade it light/darker/etc. sometimes.  But its dark brown.
Side Sweep Bangs or Full Bangs? -  I have no bangs unless you wanna get technical- they’re as long as the rest of my hair lol.
Up or Down? -  Down!

I tag all of you! Go go go!

Too Faced Replacement.

In my Vintage Sale order last month the eye shadow duo I bought my mom was busted.  I contacted Too Faced via email about it and their policy on replacement of items ruined in shipping.  They apologized and said those were prone to breaking in shipping and said they’d ship me another right away.  I said thank you, told them which duo & showed them the following pictures which I also shared with you.  I told you all about this after it happened because I’m happy with their customer service.

Well today I got the replacement.  It’s for my mom.

I wanted to take pictures and show swatches first though. (with her permission.)

Here they are.

How it came before:

Now:

To be honest I was expecting pretty much straight up matte black and pink.

But I got this:

Happily.  :)  It’s more my moms type vs matte black and matte pink.  She likes it.

More pictures, the box is cute.

The duo:

Overall, happy with Too Faced’s customer service and products.

Another thumbs up for Too Faced.

I’ve had good experiences with their customer service- they’ve answered my questions and helped me, been polite and all.  But as you may remember when I placed my large order in the vintage sale my shadow duo came busted.  I emailed them to ask if they re send items damaged in shipping since I had no idea on their policy on that and I have a response now- they do.  They said to tell them what was damaged and they would re ship it.  I’m very happy for that and gave me another reason to like them/their customer service.

Just wanted to share this with you all.

Day 6. Six Favorite Makeup Brands

  1. Urban Decay
  2. MAC
  3. Too Faced
  4. theBalm
  5. Stila
  6. Benefit

Products that I recommend that are $5 or under.

I may give a little wiggle room, but no more than about $6 and some change, depending.  I’ll do my very best to list accurate prices along with each recommendation.

Thank you for the suggestion for this post.  :)

It will probably quite rambled and I will do my best to keep it to the point.

A lot of my products are much more than $5, so at first I thought oh man.  But  come to think of it I do have more than I thought that I would recommend that are that price.  So here goes.  (Many of these you can find more about under my review/swatches tabs, send me an ask if you’d like and I’ll find it for you.)

Well my first and obvious choice would be some items from e.l.f.

I love their eye shadow quads ($1) and their mineral pigments ($3).  They’re great prices and the colors are really nice, used over a primer they’re super.  Some other things from there that I have tried and like are their makeup remover pen ($3), their brushes, specifically the mineral line, each one costs $3, they’re great.  I like their complexion perfection ($3) and you can’t beat the price of their eyebrow stencils.  ($1)  Here is a recent e.l.f. haul I did for more info on some of the things I mention.

Before I move onto some of my favorite products under $5 I want to mention a couple of ways to get some items for that price.

I love to sale shop.  I’m a bargain makeup hunter/shopper for sure.  I always look at sales first and I get discounts/promos/free things constantly.  I try to share them will you guys a lot because I use them so much.  One way to get under $5 products is to go to a drugstore and just look for everything with that clearance sticker on it.  You can get 3x or more the items you would for your budget.  As I said, shop sales.  Look at the sale section of the website you’re on.
Go to Sephora/MAC and ask for a sample of a thing or two you’re on the fence about trying.  That way you can try it, its free, and then you won’t waste any money.  Under $5?  Not exactly, but its free to try.

Two places I’d like to mention where you can find discounted items are hautelook and allcosmeticswholesale.  I have ordered from both and do recommend them.  :)

Brands I recommend that are on the cheaper side are:

e.l.f, nyx, jordana, wet n wild, nyc, almay.

Here are some of my favorite beauty products that are around $5 (I have bolded my absolute favorites/”can’t live without”):

Well that is all I can think of for the moment.  I will edit it anything else as I think of it.  Hope you enjoyed the post and feel free to send me an ask for anymore suggestions of if you have a question.

XO

All of my neutral eye shadows. Long, picture heavy post.

This was a recommended post, one I had thought of doing but didn’t want to unless I thought it’d be liked, so I’m glad to do it now.  I have tons of palettes and pigments, so I’m going to do each and swatch them, and I’ve bulleted them in order of the brand/palette/names/etc.  I hope it’s not confusing and easy to find a color if you like it.   If you have any questions send me an ask and I’d be glad to help.  I found tons of dupes as well so I may make a post on that at some point.

The only single neutral eye shadows I own are thebalm in shameless shana and MAC Orb.  I’m not going to swatch those because I swatched shameless shana from thebalm palette above and I haven’t been able to find my MAC Orb in a while :(  But it practically blends in with my skintone, I use it as a highlight.  I have pictures and swatches of it under my swatches tab or search for orb.

I’m going to write on each picture what brand and palette it is, but not each individual name.  If you look at the bullet points though, you can see which color is which name, because I’ve listed them in order or how I’ve swatched them.  Again though, send me an ask if you’re not sure.

Swatches.

(also just FYI I am right handed so I swatch on my left arm, and I have a cat scratch there, unopened and healing so i still used the arm but that is what the red/scratch is in the pictures.)

I do believe those are all of my neutrals!  If I find more I’ll add in.  Any comments/questions/favorites?

Tag- wanna play too?

Tag, you’re it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people. Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them.

Well, I’m gonna play by the rules but I’m gonna tag whomever would like to tag themselves, I know a lot of people have done this already and a lot probably haven’t so if any of you would like to reply/post your own I’ll look out for them.  :)

Ten things about me (that you may or may not know..)

  1. I was bald until I was 2, then had curly blonde Goldilocks hair, then it turned wavy and dark brown as I got older.  That is why I have blonde eye brows and dark brown hair.  :)
  2. I love animals, cats are my favorite but I love elephants as well.
  3. I have tons of nicknames from many different people but my favorites are Lis and Bunny.
  4. I have daily chronic migraines.  I’ve basically had one big bad migraine for the past almost 4 years now.
  5. Back on animals, I have one dog and six cats.  My “cute cat interruptions” are sometimes necessary since my kitty’s are so cute.
  6. I started college when I was 16, and working when I was 15.  Right now I’m not doing either, but I’m going back to school in the summer.
  7. My birthday is May 28th.  I’ll be 20 this year.  I’m spending it like I have the past 2 years, getting tattoos & being with family and friends.
  8. I ♥ Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, I saw them last year and I have tickets to go see them on May 3rd again.  I also love The New Radicals, Fleetwood Mac, and The Goo Goo Dolls.  I do listen to other music but those are my fall backs and favorites.
  9. My mom and dad mean a lot to me, I could have never asked for better parents.
  10. I have restless leg syndrome.  Lol. I couldn’t think of a last one and realized I was moving my feet around.
If you have any questions feel free to send me an ask, I’ll more than likely answer.  :)

theBalm Hot Ticket Nail Polish Set. Swatches + Review.

I scored this for $10!  It’s worth $50.  I couldn’t pass it up.

Since I’ve worn each one now until its been able to chip off I can review it as well as show pictures/opinions/swatches.  :)

First I am here to say my nails were definitely NOT manicured at the time of these swatches.

This is definitely one of my favorites.  It didn’t chip for a long time, lasted on, one coat did well and the color is absolutely gorgeous.  This is one I’ll actually use!

This is a very pretty green, and I like it a lot and am glad to have it to my collection.  I don’t think I had a green before this.  But, it is very sheer even with 3 coats and it chips super easy and fast.

I feel the same way with this as I do with the green.  A great red to add, but chips even easier and worse than the green.  Isn’t as sheer though.  I probably won’t use it much, or will try it with a base/top coat.

This is a super pretty color.  I’m definitely going to use this one.  Also, it didn’t chip for over a weak and goes on nicely.  Definitely a keeper.

That is one coat.  I like this.  It doesn’t chip and is pretty.  I think it’d go perfect over another polish as well.  It’s probably the easiest glitter polish I’ve worked with.

So there they all are.  And my opinions.  :)  Definitely worth the $10 either way, but moreso because I found a couple gems.

Time to look me up and down! Tip me?

Hi guys.  :)  I’d like tips.  On how you want me to improve/change/not change about my posts, blogs, content, pictures, etc.

Obviously I will only be taking them as suggestions and I can’t promise it’ll happen, but I really do appreciate every suggestions/comment.

Please, don’t be rude.  Constructive Criticism is fine of course.  :)

Anon or not anon is okay.  Non anon gives a face to the name and a name to the writer though, and I respond privately most of the time.  :)

Also, if you have a suggestion, ie: “change your layout” or “take more pictures” or “make more pots” I would appreciate if you elaborated with what to or what of, you know?  :)  Of course you don’t have to but if you have an opinion I’d appreciate it.

Thanks.  :)

XO

My Glam- March. Did you get one? do you like it? do you wish you got one?

I never really showed you all what the package looks like that it comes in the mail.

This is the backside, obviously the front has my info.  But its pink and shiny and bubbly.  Lol.

So I wasn’t super impressed with this month’s, but there were a few things I liked/appreciated, and the rest will be good for giveaways.

This month’s bag:

I do like this bag.  The inside is an easy to clean one, and its cute and nice fabric.

All of the cards that came with it, first off:

I do wanna say I vouch for dermstore from the experience I have had with them.  They offer free shipping, samples, and gifts (at least in my experience; obviously don’t know if they will always) and the shipping was fast, products in tact, etc.  It is where I bought the lash serum I’m using (that is working- for sure) for $30.

At first when I saw this I was kinda like what the..?  But its a neat little holder.

I have a lot of brushes but don’t ever mind adding to my collection, so I think this was a good addition to the bag.  I haven’t used it yet but it seems sturdy and nice.

I swear I should just start collecting these lol.  What was in it:

Murad reminds me of my mom, so I automatically think of her and offer the product to her if it doesn’t intrigue me.  Otherwise this will go in a giveaway; just because I have eye creams.

I may try this or it may go in a giveaway- probably the latter but I’m not quite sure yet.

Again with the Murad- (not a bad thing) I’m not sure how I feel about this.  I don’t usually use things like this so I may just go with that instinct and give it away.

This I was interested in.  I tint my hair different colors every once in a while; darker, lighter, or like now reddish.  I’m interested to see if and how it works.

So overall not a bad bag- just wasn’t wowed this time, didn’t fall in love with anything, you know?  But I’ll be staying with them for now and don’t regret the bag purchase.  (Albeit I don’t know if I even paid.  They keep “charging” to an expired card.)

So how about you guys?

Another reason to like hautelook.

They were unable to ship me part of my Stila order, and I did notice when I was tracking the order.  I wasn’t really upset, I figured I could do without it anyway and they’d probably address the issue.  They did, and I’m going to copy the email I received directly to you.  (I’m in no way affiliated with hautelook beyond my own purchases/receiving credits if you sign up through my invite link.)

I just wanted you guys to know that this company in my opinion really redeemed themselves for what wasn’t even their fault.

Hi Melissa,

You recently made a purchase from HauteLook’s Stila sale. When HauteLook designed this sale on behalf of Stila we were told they had a certain amount of inventory we could sell to our members. In this case, Stila has not been able to deliver the inventory they initially promised. As a result, there isn’t enough for all the members who made a purchase.

Unfortunately, we’re not going to be able to fulfill your order for the Artist Palette. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and want to make it up to you. First, we’re refunding $10.00 to your credit card. Second, we’re issuing you a HauteLook credit for $5.00 to say we’re sorry. Please use this credit whenever and however you would like.

HauteLook takes short-shipping very seriously. We work closely with the brands to ensure that it doesn’t occur and when it does occur, we take immediate steps to address it. If a brand consistently short-ships our members, we will no longer allow them to sell on HauteLook.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this inconvenience. We appreciate your membership and hope you will find another great deal on HauteLook in the near future.

Day 5. Five Favorite Makeup Brushes

I have eight that I picked total.  I chose five though so here goes.  Any more questions hit my ask up. XO

1.)  Ecotools brush.  I use this and I like it because I find it good for applying eye shadow on the corners, outer v, etc.

2.)  This has been one of my favorite brushes.  Smashbox.  I use it to highlight and blend.

3.)  Sephora.  I currently just use it to apply translucent powder but also for highlighting/contouring.

4.)  Make Up Geek eye shadow brush.  I have a couple of these, they’re super cheap and awesome.  Great for patting on eye shadow and swiping it on.

5.)  e.l.f. fan brush.  I use this to wipe away the fall out.

1.)  Urban Decay Book of Shadows- all of them.  I only have the IV and I want all of the ones before then.  Its a shame I couldn’t get my hands on any.  and still can’t seem to.

2.)  A new bottle of perfume, a full, biggest sized of DKNY Golden Delicious.

3.)  A Clarasonic MIA.  I doubt i’d buy one for myself.
