All of my neutral eye shadows. Long, picture heavy post.

This was a recommended post, one I had thought of doing but didn’t want to unless I thought it’d be liked, so I’m glad to do it now.  I have tons of palettes and pigments, so I’m going to do each and swatch them, and I’ve bulleted them in order of the brand/palette/names/etc.  I hope it’s not confusing and easy to find a color if you like it.   If you have any questions send me an ask and I’d be glad to help.  I found tons of dupes as well so I may make a post on that at some point.

The only single neutral eye shadows I own are thebalm in shameless shana and MAC Orb.  I’m not going to swatch those because I swatched shameless shana from thebalm palette above and I haven’t been able to find my MAC Orb in a while :(  But it practically blends in with my skintone, I use it as a highlight.  I have pictures and swatches of it under my swatches tab or search for orb.  

I’m going to write on each picture what brand and palette it is, but not each individual name.  If you look at the bullet points though, you can see which color is which name, because I’ve listed them in order or how I’ve swatched them.  Again though, send me an ask if you’re not sure.

(also just FYI I am right handed so I swatch on my left arm, and I have a cat scratch there, unopened and healing so i still used the arm but that is what the red/scratch is in the pictures.)



I do believe those are all of my neutrals!  If I find more I’ll add in.  Any comments/questions/favorites?

FOTD the other night.  

“Two old KVD Palettes” means Beethoven and Momenti Mori.

I ended up using a Lancome black liner instead of the Leather.

FOTD- pink and flirty.

I wanted to do a couple different takes on valentine’s inspired looks, I just didn’t get around to it until today.  If I come up with something I like enough, I’m going to enter it into makeupbee’s contest.

Anyway, this one is pink based and it screams flirty to me.

I primed with urban decay primer potion in original, then used Kat Von D’s Mi Vida Loca palette, the first color as a highlight and the second on my inner corner.  Then I used my Sugarpill sweetheart palette and used dollipop on my outter corner and crease.  Also used dollipop as my liner.  I used my lancome cils primer and hypnose drama mascara.

FOTD experiment #2- 2/11/12.

Too Faced Smokey Eye Palette- Fashion Eye.

The only thing I changed from the card was the bottom liner, in which I used Kat Von D’s Wonderchild.  Next time I do the look, and wore it out, I’d use the liner that came with the kit (the last shadow).  I did it though, and it just wasn’t working because my eye kept watering so I grabbed a color I thought was close but it wasn’t.  I don’t feel it completely ruined the look but I definitely think it’d look better with the matching liner on the bottom.

Anyway, I primed with maybelline color tattoo in audacious asphalt, then used my 2 new lancome mascara’s.

FOTD 2/2/12.

This was the first look I created with my new Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca palette.  I was in a rush and looking for a pink to wear and remembered it had one so I decided to use it.  It turned out pretty.  It’s a very quick and easy look.

I used the 2nd color on the first half of my lid (1st shown) and the 3rd on the outer part (2nd shown).

They were easily blendable and smooth.  I primed with urban decay primer potion and after the shadows added urban decay 24/7 liner in zero on my upper lashline.  I then added Tarte’s Light’s Camera Lashe’s and that was all.  I’m loving the new palette and also that tarte mascara.  It is the only mascara I’ve found that even with a few coats makes my lashes feel super light.

My eyeliners.

The mirror isn’t even dirty, I just haven’t taken the peel off screen yet hahah.

Anyway these are my cream liners.  The Sephora one is one I’ve used a lot.  I got it for $10 to try and it ended up being a favorite.  I’m about 1/2 done with it.  I’ll repurchase for sure, unless I want to try another brand.  The palette is the smashbox cream eyeliner palette.  I put the two eye liner brushes I use next to it.  Yes, they are dirty and caked with liner.  Yes, I leave them this way for a little bit.  Because they’re stiff and that way I get an easier use.  (and yes I do clean them lol.)  And then my favorite sharpener, Urban Decay’s Grindhouse.

These are all of my liquid liners.  I don’t use liquid liners in general very often.  

When I do, It is the Urban Decay 24/7 Liner or the MAC Liquidlast liner.

I use the Too Faced Liquif-Eye pretty often though, which turns any shadow into liner.

MAC Liquidlast liner in aqualine, Tokidoki Perfetto liner, and Urban Decay 24/7 liner in perversion.

Too Faced Liquif-Eye, Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Liquid Glitter Liner’s in brown and black, and e.l.f. liquif liner in brown.  

These are all of my pencil liners that I use.

These are the mini ones.  Top to bottom, UD 24/7 liner in Zero, UD 24/7 liner in electric, UD 24/7 liner in Binge, UD 24/7 liner in Eldorado, UD 24/7 liner in Corrupt, and Kat Von D Wonderchild liner.  (swatches for all of these can be found under my swatches link on my homepage)

Top to bottom, Bare Escentuals big and bright eye  liner in black, Stila liner in Lionfish, UD 24/7 liner in Whiskey, UD 24/7 liner in Flipside. 

Urban Decay’s are my  favorite, but the Stila and Bare Escentuals are great too.  I’m just getting to know the Wonderchild but I enjoy it.

FOTD 1/29/12.

I came up with this look last night after looking at the swatches I took of my Kat Von D Momenti Mori palette.

Often times I find it easy to piece together looks by looking at swatches and/or palettes and putting colors together, so sometimes I write down what goes where and do it later when I have no other look planned.

I thought this one out of the five I came up with would go with what I was wearing later today, and I really do enjoy the way it came out.

Honestly it looks a lot better in person lol.  But I’m going to take more pictures later hopefully, out in the sun.

I primed my eyes with my usual, Urban Decay primer potion in original.  I used MAC Orb as my highlight, and Tarte Amazonian Clay Mascara.  I used Too Faced Liquif-Eye with Tijuana to line my lower lash line.  As for shadows I used (all in the momenti mori palette) Peggy on the first 1/3 of my lid, hard luck in my crease, and tijuana on the outer part.  

Hopefully I can get better pictures for you all but this look is probably one I’ll do again, it really works for my eyes.

Kat Von D Momenti Mori Palette.

This is Kat Von D’s Momenti Mori Palette.  I have had it for a pretty long time, a few years.  I stopped using it for a while ever since I got into makeup and started buying a lot of it, but the past week or so I got back into them.  I figured I’d show you guys my two KVD palettes besides the new one, they are good quality and pretty.  I don’t believe it is still sold but I’m not positive, you can probably find it on ebay at the least.

The front of the palette.  This personally is my favorite design, and I enjoy the colors too.  This was also my very first high end eye shadow palette.

Kat Von D Beethoven Palette.

I’m glad I decided to get into this palette again.  I’m thinking of doing a look with speed blue, razor grey, and tequila.  I also used leather the other day and it’s awesome.  Galeano is very pretty as well.

Kat Von D- Mi Vida Loca Palette.

Definitely been eyeing this as my first purchase for the Spring 2012 Collections.  After doing research on it I decided to get it.  I’m glad I did!  The colors are definitely more vibrant in real life.  If you aren’t sure about it from the swatches you’ve been seeing online, try and swatch them yourself.  (I think they’re in stores?)

I know a lot of you wanted swatches so here they are.  :)  Let me know if you’d like anything else or have any look suggestions you want me to do!

Sephora Package 1/27/12.

So excited about this today.  :)  Everything is beautiful!

I bought the new Kat Von D palette, and the Urban Decay Brights Pencil set.  I also used a promo that day and got a free awesome fragrance sample.  :)

I’m going to make two other separate posts with many swatches (my usual flash and no flash, broken down into sections as well) of the palette and the pencils.  :)

The front of the palette.  I was attracted to this the moment I first saw it.  I definitely researched it as much as I could before finally buying it.  But the colors drew me in.  (outside and inside.)

The back of the palette.  When I take the swatches pictures I’m hoping to edit in a better picture of this, I didn’t realize how unclear it was when I took it, I apologize.

I wish you could see that the colors are more vibrant than pictured.  Specifically on the left.  You can tell a bit more in this picture.

This is the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil Travel Set in Brights.  They have a Darks set as well.  I’m glad i picked this one, the swatches I haven’t even taken off of my arm because they’re beautiful haha.  I decided to make a separate post breaking them down with swatches.

But here is a sneak peek.

Here are the 3 free samples I got.

A philosophy sample and an eye cream kate somerville sample, and then I was excited to try this:

Right before I placed my order I got an email promo from sephora for a free fragrance from dkny.  I decided to go for it since it was free.  

Also, I didn’t get any point perks this time.  I have enough for both (100 or 500) but I’m waiting for one to appeal to me.

I had forgotten about the fragrance sample and it came in a big sized box and I was like “whoa what did I order and forget about?”

How it came.  It’s in an apple shaped ornament.  

When you open it up you’re greeted with a mini golden apple.  :)

This was the best picture I could get.  The golden top comes off and there is a good amount of fragrance in here, especially for free!  I’m glad I decided to use this as my free promo.  I actually like the smell a lot too.  Wearing it now and keep inhaling haha.  

I’m super happy with these purchases.  I spent about $54 if I remember correctly.  I feel everything was more than worth it and I hope I continue to feel the same as I get into the products more.  Swatches soon beauties!
